Through a Child's EyesA Poem by MegA blank verse poem (sort of) that just about killed me to write. The simplest thing holds mystery beyond, And everything is one gigantic game. The world holds more than older ones believe; Their eyes are dimmed to incandescent light Which shines upon a world of childish things Years seem to bring the shadow that destroys The childish innocence we hold so dear And leaves an empty hollow where once full. A boring, endless droning on of life. Each day the selfsame tread until the end. © 2017 Meg |
