I'm just on an ancient poem rampage, pulling poems out of my dresser from years gone by all over the place. :)
This one's a bit dramatic.
I sat with my heart, so lonely, so sweet;
I dreamed all alone, my tears on the street;
I knew he was thinking, of ways to conspire,
But I shouldn't, Icouldn't
Fight fire with fire.
I told my heart thank you, for staying so true;
"I know I just couldn't, survive without you";
Through all the dark alleys, and forgotten mires,
I ran, cause I couldn't,
Fight fire with fire.
I knew he would find me, somehow in some place;
I didn't want him to see, the tears on my face;
I knew he would yell, and call me a liar,
But I knew, I couldn't,
Fight fire with fire.
I fell to the floor, and I fell on my knees;
I let him come find me, and begged him to please,
Not shout at me madly, or yell till he tired;
Why, cause I couldn't,
Fight fire with fire.
Oldies but Goodies are timeless. This one is heart wrenching and wonderfully done. You are peaceful within your own personal ethic even in the face of your tears from the onslaughts of a jerk. Very good write.
Amazing poem, I definitely love your old poems, they're brilliant, beautiful, and everything of that sort. This right here shows the true nature of a calm and peaceful soul, one that instead of using war to solve problems, uses other methods to solve them. Anything just to get through it without conflict. Great job!
You keep posting them, because [ i think, not sure ] you want to see what people think. I think this was AMAZING It was very touching, I loved every bit of it!!!!:D
“We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are MEMBERS OF THE HUMAN RACE. And the human race is filled with PASSION. And medicine, law, business, engi.. more..
