Unforeseen

Unforeseen

A Poem by Michelle Chiafala
"

My instinct tells me to run.

"

You say those three words
so often misused, and my
instinct tells me to run.

The time the sun cracks
the sky can be estimated;
depths of snow calculated.

And though I care for you
enough that it scares me,
unknown is when you will
see me as the flawed woman
I am, trained through time
to become an escape artist.
