My Perfect Addiction

My Perfect Addiction

A Poem by #SecretWriter

My perfect addiction
I haven't seen for a while
You come creeping up
As I rock out of style

Dressed to the height
And mind to the flow
You crawl from under rock
And I let myself go

Relapse, re-fall,
drop and done
Sing your bleeding heart out
I meant to have fun

This could be about poetry or the bottle, or a myriad of addictions I suppose, either way it was fun to read....

I wrote a tanka called Faustian Zen. Our addictions, and they are not always of the narcotic-type, promise so much and give for a while, but there is always a price to be paid. A seemingly whimsical piece here with an undercurrent of real pain. Excellent work. I do wonder if you are missing an 'a' with rock:)
