The Break UpA Poem by mcceewritesI wish you could watch me from the outside looking in. I wish we could remain lovers, But start as strangers again. Because you've lost your politeness. You barely even listen to me when I speak. You wanna have it your way. But it's my way or the highway. In the middle is where I've always wished to meet. But, I love you so much that it drives me off a cliff. I'm holding on for dear life, To you, through whom I live. I can't let you go. I can't go on without you. But, I need to know... Would you still love me if I did? I can't live without you, I'll throw myself off the cliff. You're the only one I love, But you're getting harder to kiss. I'll never let you go, But, I need to know... Would you still trust me if I did? Would you still love me if I broke up with you? Would you still trust me if I did the one thing I said I'd never do? Would you still view me as the woman you adore? Would you still love me if I said I couldn't do this anymore? If I said, I still love you, but I don't love you anymore.
