Torpor

Torpor

A Poem by R.Ivan

My insomnia settles like
Dust on an old mattress.
As I roam through the gardens and
Tulip fields,
I realize I have been holding my
Breath
For the last couple of hours.
As I gasp for air
The air fills with me.
Man and wind, we expand together.
Insurmountable, we are now a
Golden aura--
The radient light awakens
Deep inside, deeper than my skeleton and
My life-body wisps out of my skin
Inching toward the sun like some
Tired plant.

Did you consider making this a poppy field, to go with the theme of sleep and release? :)
