Place Where Nothing Matters

Place Where Nothing Matters

A Poem by R.Ivan

Place Where Nothing Matters

As a sleepless river babbles

Across the ashy stones,

As a forest filled with branches

Like widows’ reaching fingers

Stretches toward the sun,

Far beyond the twilight where the

Path splits West,

A fallen ivy tree signals my curiosity.

Behind it,

A place where silence is the

Only sound,

Where the light peaks through

The great, green leaves is this

Place where nothing matters:

You can visit often,

But discover it only once.

The grass is soft like hair, and only here

Will the moon and sun

Always share the sky.

Tall sunflowers kiss the cheeks of passersby.

Take nothing.

Quietly respect everything.

Observe as much as you can.

Dig your bare feet into the earth and

Feel the soil fuse with you.

Fall into the gaping hole of

Your destiny.

Because in this
Place where nothing matters

You will learn love.

You will see truth.

You will find life.

And you will know things

You already knew.

But you will appreciate them

When you return.

How simple it will seem to you then

That when nothing matters,

When nothing matters...

Then everything does.
