empty mouthsA Poem by Madeline CapoAn
interesting heart once told me: “I prefer to kiss without emotion”
So
when I was caught in the action of desire I
wondered what it was
I
can only describe it as:
Strong
bones covered in soft freckled skin Fingers
hungrily touching, massaging, circling Like
kneading dough Or
making pottery
I
only look back on it as:
Hands
everywhere Hair
everywhere Four
contrasting green eyes Closed
the whole time
I
only felt it as:
Pleasure
crippling thoughts Pleasure
transcending time A
whole body turning noodle limp when it dissipates
I
only internalized it as:
A
concluding feeling of some sort of emptiness that
mirrored my apparent nakedness
Only,
one thing I still don’t know:
How
and why the steady beat pounds in my aching head wondering, “no
emotion” and our legs weaved tightly together under
the cotton somehow
made me feel so
