30 Days

30 Days

A Poem by Matthew Bosko
"

I was with this girl for a month, it was intense to the point where I thought I had found this unique girl that could be more then just a, "Rebound". Sometimes reality is harsher then the dream. Enjoy

"

30 Days

My apartment is your crime scene
there is no need to dust for prints because you're all over it
from the jar of nutella left uneaten
to the scent of the pillow you laid on last weekend
The pink mug with our initials on the bottom
the dead flowers on my coffee table
you must have forgot 'em

What will happen to the list we made?
how will I ever look at the bed the same?
I remember we struggled to keep our eyes open
as we talked into the twilight
and you took my heart that night
which makes sense
the perfect time for a break in...

So as I tear down the tape, again
redo the locks
get new keys and then..
clean up the mess you've made alone
because I can't wait for this place to feel more like home
one that I can share with someone who
well

isn't you.

Wow! Your words are powerful. Some relationships, though short, can be intense and leave one feeling a bit lost - even in someplace familiar. So as I tear down the tape, again
redo the locks
get new keys and then..
clean up the mess you've made alone
because I can't wait for this place to feel more like home
Brilliant writing. You are very talented. I look forward to reading more of "you".

A few rhythm problems, but definitely a good mood and comparison.

I love that you allow a peek of how you deal with a painful moment in your life. The development of emotion and then a twist of confidence to seal it off. Perfectly done.

Thank you for the read Paige! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Oh wow.... powerful... This one isn't funny at all OUCH.... It is crazy how in just a short amount of time someone can impact your heart, your mind, your life leaving their "fingerprints" making it hard to "feel like home" again or "look at the bed the same"... Very nicely done....

Each relationship steals a piece of the heart, but we are wiser for it after all. I like your metaphor here; well told, Matthew!

Ohhh, love as a crime scene played out so well in this piece. It is crazy how some can break into your heart with the slightest effort only to leave wreckage and heartache. I truly enjoyed stepping into this poem and catching a glimpse of those thirty days gone... Wonderful read.

Wow, Thank you so much, I'm honored.
How beautiful.... And it resonates so deeply because I have felt this before. Picking up the pieces after a whirlwind relationship. You'll be better off without her. And your writing is excellent
