Bird

Bird

A Poem by mbg

I wish

I was a bird.

Waking up

In the warm sunny light

I would uncover my head from my wings,

Warming my face to the sun.

Stand and flutter my feathers

Stretching them to the warm sunny light

Taking deep breaths,

Filling up my lungs,

Start to sing a beautiful tune.

I look up,

I see the beautiful sky

I look down,

I see the ground

Far below me.

I stretch my wings,

Leap then fall,

Catching a gust of wind.

I laugh at gravity,

Rejoicing in the fact,

It means nothing to me.
