Starry Night

Starry Night

A Poem by Madhur Batra
"

I was bored during English class so I wrote this

"
I gazed up at the stars
They danced across the sky
Having a grand, magical ball
In the vast, black night

Little candles flickering so bright
They were having a party and invited
The man in the moon, who I saw
In the vast, black night

I had my breath taken away
I saw one soar across my sight
Closed my eyes and made a wish
In the vast, black night

I wasn't lonely anymore
The stars blinking in the sky
Became my only friends
In the vast, black night.

interesting. I like how the repetition is used to emphasize loneliness. it added alot to the stars being your comfort in the night sky. to me, this poem showed that even the little things can make all the difference sometimes. its amazing how the tiny stars can turn a dark and rather frightening/lonely night into one filled with comfort and peace.
