Me

Me

A Poem by Mary Bradley
"

Faded Love

"
Disheveled with no desires
My heart is too sick to love .
The sun sinking joylessly
In the dark grey clouds.
I wonder ...
Where have the passions gone ?
Without a trace nor the last taste
Freezing my blood flows ... Cold like a corpse .
My mind rewinding memories past
To keep my body warm
To remind me of how I've lived and loved
To guide me to see the happiness in my beloved .
Will I be able to love again ?

Beautiful, descriptive and it has that feeling that it comes from your inner world. Very sincere, showing raw emotion.

Thank you JELLYCAT :-) ... I appreciate your review
This world with all it's ups and downs overwhelming at times no doubt!
Cling to perfect love my friend and he will teach you to love again,
it tears my heart apart knowing you hurt, I will pray on it
and let the Lord do work! Thanks for sharing and b-blessed!

Thank you Jamestown ... imperfect life we live in , there's joy and pain will follow suit
I love your sweet and melancholic poem but these lines are extraordinarily beautiful:

"The sun sinking joylessly
In the dark gray clouds.
I wonder ...
Where have the passions gone ?"

You're very welcome Mary!
This poem made me think strongly about my dealings and battles with depression. You have no room for love as you think you are unworthy to give or to receive it. It doesn't matter if the sun shines or the clouds dominate, the state of mind stays the same. When the depression stays constant, after a time you really do feel as though you've become a walking corpse. Many times your memories of who you used to be are the only way to acquire warmth. The words are very relatable here for me.

Profoundly melancholy poetic reverie.
Lyrical, well-imaged and articulate.
Very fine work, Mary!
