I love this. Sooo strong, and I love the brevity of the lines and how you coax and place the words just right. My only suggestion: you say "feel" twice. Consider placing something else there the second or first time you use it. Definitely one of my favorites by you. Keep writing.
There's this tone of discretion in your piece that pulls off the whole concept of a personal battle- letting go, moving on and holding back. Well delivered in its most simple and subtle form.
Second stanza sells the whole thing. Comfort a liar line is brilliant. Gone over the hill is pretty solid as well. The bye be line confuses me. It sounds great, looks great, but says very little compared to the rest of your poem.
It is always hard to say good bye, especially when it is not your choice. to refuse is admirable, yet to have the strength to actually stand up firmly and say goodbye is a strength so many deny to appreciate. Another great piece, thought provoking!
