"

I got inspired by the movie ''Portrait of a Lady on Fire'' and this poem is the effect of it. If you have watched it (which I really recommend to do), the references are probably quite obvious. : )

"
The corner of your Book's page
Still burns my cold skin.
Sharp enough - is it -
To make me bleed?

Red tears - will they
Flee from my unwanted veins?
Leave my heart
To shrink and dry out - will they?

Will they open a bottle
Of the Bitter Liquor inside my body?
Will they pour it down
And let it float - freely?

Will they make my eyes
Close - too heavy with their pain?
Tie my legs up and take me
Back to the Cliff's Edge - oh, will they?

While I am looking at the
Aching Sky, all that I see is
The Western Star
And the Number
28.
