I can hear youA Poem by once upon a time
You think I can't hear you
But i can hear you. I hear the words in my head, When they are no longer being spoken. I can still hear you. Words like knives in my back, And needles through my heart. Words so cruel I don't know how you say them aloud. Then again, Can the words be more cruel, Than the person who spoke them Perhaps it is you that is the helpless soul, You have somehow convinced everyone is me. You don't see the mistakes you've made, And you don't hear the cries you've caused. But my eyes are dry. Maybe I'm all cried out, Or maybe I finally took the power from you. Can you hear me? I promise you will hear me. Because I CAN hear you. I could lie and say you are invisible to me, But what good would it do. It's not the truth, I can ignore you but you are still there, Hanging over me. I could say I can't hear anything you say, But I am not deaf to your words. It would not stop the knifes from being thrown. I could say your words don't hurt, But that would be a lie. Yes you have hurt me, But you have made me stronger. Now all your knives have ricocheted, And are headed back for you. Now you hear me, I won't hear you. © 2013 once upon a timeReviews
