Brave

Brave

A Poem by once upon a time

I am no daredevil nor Hercules.
I am not strong, I have my fears.
Like how I'm scared of being stung by bees.
I'm afraid of swords and spears.
But I'm not afraid of tears.
I am brave.

No I do not wish I was less afraid.
That is to wish not to be alive,
And I do not wish to be deceased or decayed,
For that is just another fear derived,
In this simple headed mind of mine.
I do not need to be unafraid.
I am still brave

Though I fear what I cannot see,
Especially when it is behind me.
I am no longer afraid of the dark,
Though I do still fear sharks.
I do not know what will be,
And yet I feel free as can be.
I am no longer afraid,
I am brave.

I like how this sort of made the point that being afraid of something doesn't make you weak and that being brave doesn't mean yu are completely without any fear at all. Very good.
