Chapter 1

Chapter 1

A Chapter by once upon a time

It's been a month since I'd seen, Well anything. The first thing i saw when i woke up was strangers standing around me. Most people would say they didn't know who they were. That's not the worst part. I didn't know these people, they meant nothing to me. those people watching me, smiling, talking to me, and i couldn't hear any of it. That's the worst part.

One of the people looked right at me. Her eyes seemed to look into me, like they saw everything.

She was an older woman, maybe around 50, with short hair that looked like it couldn't decide if it was blonde or brown. She had green eyes with little flecks of brown and gold in them.

She was looking at me,smiling, but I'm sure i just looked confused. She turned to the others, said something, and they all nodded.

One of the others was a man about the same age as the woman, maybe a few years older. He had dark hair and brown eyes.

The last one was a boy, probably 17, who had dark hair and green eyes.

The 3 of them were obviously related. Did that mean that I was related to them to? Is that why I was here? No that couldn't be it, that's impossible. I have never seen these people before in my life. How could they be my family?

Another man walked in. He looked like he belonged here, in his white coat, blue scrubs, and carrying a clip board. He looked like he had a purpose. I wish i knew my purpose.

He shut the door and shook hands with the strangers. He said something to them and they all left the room. He sat down and started writing something on a small piece of paper. He handed me the paper and I saw it was covered in letters. I recognized the tiny symbols. It was nice to know I still remembered something.

All the letters came together to form the words My name is Jonah. I am your doctor. I looked up and he handed me another piece of paper.  Can you tell me what you remember. I looked up and hoped that my voice still worked. "Nothing."

He whispered something to himself. Can you remember your name? I shook my head. I couldn't remember anything.

He wrote the words Natalya Parsen. I guess that's my name.

You were in a car accident, The others involved haven't woken up yet, we aren't sure if they will. Those people that were in here earlier, that's your family. It may be hard to take in but i thought it was best to tell you what we know.

I finished reading the note and couldn't find the doctor anywhere. My "family" walked in carrying a box covered in colorful paper. A note was taped to the top that said Open Me! I tore off the paper and found a small book hidden inside.

The first page had already been filled in with curly handwriting.

Dear Natalya,

The doctor said it might be hard for you to understand all of this, and that it might help to keep a journal. Hopefully, this will help you express what you are feeling and to accept what has happened.

The next page was covered by a family picture. My family's picture. I guess it was proof that we were a family, that's all distant past and forgotten memories now.

I turned to the first blank page. I already knew what i was going to write. I scribbled the words on the faint lines.

My name is Natalya Parsen, I have amnesia, and I am deaf.
