Maybe You

Maybe You

A Poem by maybe

Maybe you were silenced once

So you thought you had no right

To hold your head up high and speak

The things you know to be right.

Maybe you were put down once

And so you believed the lie

That your thoughts and feelings did not matter

And so you ceased to try.

Maybe you were shut out in the cold

By someone you once held dear

And so you keep your heart's door closed

So nobody can come near.

Maybe you feel small and weak

Compared to all the rest

But I am here to say to you

That you are among the best.

This is quiet awesome, well expressed, insightful and beautiful! I thought it flowed well, and was very well done!

I think the way you set the rhyme scheme helps the flow alot and I really like how you start each stanza with the same few words, and the phrasing in each stanza is sort of the same, and then you reak it with the last line.

This is really powerful, and I think it has a great message.
