First SightA Poem by maya_onlineI only want to be loved, but even that is too much.
I've only seen you once, my love.
But once was enough to know that whoever you were, you were meant for me. I think about you often, my love. The way your eyes close when you focus, the way you tap your pen when thinking. I notice these things because it only took one look to be utterly infatuated. I want to hold your hand, my love. But I'm afraid of rejection, afraid of speaking to you, afraid of me, of what I may say, of what I won't watching you from afar is easier than loving you up close. I see that look in your eye, love. That look you give that other woman, the way you watch her do things that only she does, the way I wanted you to look at me but you've seen another. I'm to let you go. I'm to give up this silly interest, but as I watch you for the last time, I see the way you see her, the way you think about her, the way you want to hold her hand just as I wished for you. I'm to let you go, but I know this interest will plague me, sick. So I must have you I will have you because I've seen you only once, and yet my heart beats twice. my love.
