I want it to press against my chest

and thrum against all that I am

and all that I will be

with you

my lover?

So if my heart beats

for anyone else, for

anything else

I'll know that it isn't mine

that whatever beats

against my chest,

and my soul,

and my being,

cannot be my heart

because if my heart beats

it can only beat for you.
