Halloween SurpriseA Poem by Maya LunaJust for halloween... :)
Who’s that knocking at my door? Trick or treaters by the score! Looking for a yummy treat, All dressed up from head to feet. Dole out sweets without delay Mumbled thanks and on their way, Till the doorbell chimes again With trick or treats galore, and then... After midnight, doorbell rings Tiny cherub, broken wings, Sack held high, afraid to ask Lost behind a store-bought mask. Candy drops into the sack It walks away not looking back, "It’s late, go home right now!" I call "It’s dangerous for one so small!" Eerie sound makes me retreat The child is flying down the street! Slipped mask reveals a goblins’ grin, Good thing I did not ask it in!
