The Queen

The Queen

A Poem by Max Rwizi, Jr.

What I feel for her is like describing
how water tastes like.
When her lips part, it's like you get sucked into her thoughts but still not certain of what she's going to pull out next.
Her words are ticklish but, they drip authority of a goddess that make kings bend their knees.
Her smile brings peace, just as it did to me when I was at war with my heart when it chose her.
She's the mother of treasures that many seek but only the brave find.
Her silence is as loud as a mother calling out for her mischievous child.
Her laugh is a roar that manufacturers earthquakes destructive enough to make her enemies fall into confusion.
Mediocrity is like water and she's oil.
A moment with her is a memory
engraved onto your soul.
She's a nightmare you do not want to wake up from because, she's a mystery that needs solving.
She's not perfect but ,her imperfections are just too perfect.
She is my queen.
Ndiye mambokadzi wangu.
Uyi inkosikazi yami.
