Confession

Confession

A Story by Mayur Sadhu

The moon peeped through the dents of the clouds, piercing out its aura, to illuminate the Earth, by its milky color. The sky was overcrowded by ghastly dark clouds, with mentally acceptable shapes. The chilly wind was enjoying its own sweet journey from the north.
The streets were deserted, with not a moving creature visible till the horizon. The cries and howls of the wild from a distance, can be heard echoing everywhere. The street lights illuminated the broad roads. The lights from the skyscrapers kissing the sky, failed to induce its importance, outside the four walls. Everyone was under the rags, for the chilly winds, pricking and tickling the soft human flesh.
"Okay bye, baby!", he said, and was about to start his motion, when she got hold of his wrist.
"When will you come back?". she asked. Her voice shaked.
"I will be late!"
"Why?", she asked, as a tear spurted out of her eyes, and kissed his hand, she was holding. The warmth of her tear, was enough to melt the cold, that was wrapping them up.
"Don't cry, baby!", he ignored her question. He pulled her, and grasped her by her waist firmly.
She was crying terribly. She couldn't believe that he was going away from her, and she can't do anything to stop him. But the fact that he was still there with her, kept her strong. She had melted in the warmth of his love, within his hug.
"Hey stop crying please! I'm not going to leave you alone. I will be there in your heart, always. You and I were destined to be together. No one can separate us!", he tried to console her. But still he couldn't stop her, from shedding her tears.
"Can't you stay here, with me, for sometime more?", she asked.
"I am sorry. But I can't. I have to go!"
She begged for some more precious days, but he kept denying her.
"Okay, bye!", he finally released her from his tight hug. "I have something for you! But promise me, you will open it, after I am gone!", he said, and put his fist inside his pocket.
"No! I can't make this promise!", she replied.
"Then, you are not having my gift!", he answered.
"You can't do that!", she finally spurted out a laughter.
"Ah! There's the laugh I was waiting for. Thank you, this is my precious gift, before I leave. Cm on baby, please don't fight!"
"Okay!", she finally agreed.
He pulled out his fist, and handed her a piece of paper.
"What's this?", she questioned.
"There are some confessions from my side! But don't read it, untill I leave!", he said, and pulled her back in his warm hug. he then placed his warm lips on her frozen forehead, and kissed her swiftly.
"Please I can be here, for some more time?", she sobbingly asked. She didn't wanted to come out of his arms.
"No dear. I have to go!", he said, as he released her, from his arms, and started his motion towards the darkness prevailing everywhere.
"Bye!", he said, as he disappeared in the darkness. The eerie silence had eaten up, the clinking footsteps of his.
She stood there, and stared at the piece of paper in her hand, as her tear started wetting the paper. She couldn't  believe the news that was projected from the script.
It read...
Baby, I have some confessions to you. I had tried to tell all these much before, but couldn't gather courage to confront to you.
My medical checkups had prized me with something, that had slowly eating me up. Moreover, the pain of loosing you, forever, had catalyzed its backlash. I have been detected with cancer, and doctors have conveyed me that its the last stage, and I have limited time, to live with you.
But don't worry, I will be there with you all the time. Moreover I was born to be with you.
Bye.....

She was numb. The freezing wind, didn't seemed to have any effect as it kissed her skin. She stood there, like a lifeless creature, without any feelings.
"WHY? WHAT HAVE I DONE, THAT YOU ARE PUNISHING ME LIKE THIS?", she screamed out. But there was no one to answer her inquisition. Her screamed echoed everywhere, but again the silence had overcome it, to leave her all alone in the deserted road.

I admire your characters who have been devoted to each other in an uncommon way. However, given the emotional torture to the lady of the verse, it seems selfish of the cancer-ridden lover to leave her all alone. Of course, a conception stands that watching him die is worse than seeing him merely leave. But, if i were in her place, i would feel miserable over my fate. Conclusively, such morbidity of the story has given a remarkable appeal to it.

There's a bit of grammatical errors in the story- "courage to confront to you" instead of "courage to confront you", "had slowly eating me up" instead of "had been slowly eating me up." Still, there's no one not in favor of reading your lovely piece of work.

You have a good concept here but some of your language is unnecessarily stilted and wordy. I'd go back through and look out for any sentences that seem awkward to you and work on them a little. It's a bit of a shame because there's obviously a lot of emotion in this piece, but all those little errors detract from it somewhat.

A very heartfelt story. The description is detailed and beautiful. On a more critical note, try enhancing the dialogue a little. That'll cover up to make the story flawless. The story line was interesting.
Good job :)
