Reflected In Your Eyes

Oh, what despair

To see such sadness in your eyes

A reflection of a soul beyond repair

Don't fret, the sun will rise.

However the sun's rays are the most we dread

For the thrilling race is about to end

It would have been better that we were dead

Than to accept defeat and just pretend.

Alas! The sun's rays are here at last

Do what you can within the hour

Treasure the memories from ages past

Before we are devoured.

Failure flashes before our souls

Tempting us to give in and give up

Our lives have taken their toll

It's too late, the time is up.

The sun resumes its journey

across the clear, vibrant sky

Life turns to a memory

and all we ask is why.

The light fills our souls

and ignites a fire within

We are, once again, whole

and ready to start again.

The fire in our hearts

is an inferno of hope...

...hope.

In your shining brown eyes 

is the light of the glorious sun

This moment I have visualized

now that the sadness is gone.
