Never a goodbye

I wrote this when my best friend confessed his feelings towards me. That feeling when you want to give him a chance but you just can't because you will leave someone behind.

To love and be loved by a kith is but a bane,

Did cupid's aim took a mistakable turn?

Or was it fate that didn't took it's supposed refrain?

This love is but pure fern.

 

 

I sang the song of friendship,

He played the music of romance,

He danced the song in weep,

I listened to my heart yearning for a chance.

 

 

Can we love without getting hurt?

Must I choose our bond or you, my friend?

Faint words whispering in my thumping chest,

How can this cataclysm be mend?

 

 

Why have you told me this now?

I have loved somebody,

Why have you let yourself drown?

When my heart is not for thee.

 

 

Long must you go and leave,

I won't be sad nor cry,

Because I have always believed,

This is not yet goodbye.
