Sit and Wait

Sit and Wait

A Poem by Matthew Webb
"

This is a poem I've wrote for a story im writing, its about a man in a coma and what his mind is going through

"

I sit and wait

In a room cold as ice

No door, no windows,

No heat, no light,

How I got here remains a mystery to me

But there's no other place I'd rather be

I just sit and wait

In this cold endeavour

Listening to my thoughts

Who knows me better?

I'm free to leave whenever that may be

To see the life I've got still waiting for me

But I just sit and wait

Not making a move

My eyes stay shut

Which opens the room

For all looking in

It's clear to see

That coma became a grave for me.
