Stupid

Stupid

A Poem by Matteus Ducey
"

one of my newer songs.

"

i'm afraid for my life, what have i done? i'm running so close to the knife, what have i become? i'm so close to the end that i can taste it. i'm so close to my death but can not face it. i'm so stupid, what have i done?

my heart bleeding, your face smiling. my life's ending, your's has just begun. i'm so stupid, it's all your fault. i'm so stupid, it's all your fault.

you've become the death of my life, what have you done? you just threw me away, what have you become? you've changed for the worse but will not admit it. you're so stupid, what have you done?

my heart bleeding, your face smiling. my life's ending, your's has just begun. i'm so stupid, but that's not your fault. i'm f*****g stupid. it's not your fault.

The contradiction between the first two stanzas and the last two stanzas was something I found appealing. In the beginning, you are blaming yourself for the event that has happened. There is a conflicting element between how you are struggling with who to blame. It is evident that the abusive third party is a past lover, and the circulation of traumatic events that happened.

By the end of the lyrics, you have concluded that it is not your lovers fault, and my conclusion would be that it was no one's fault. It was just the matter of harrowing surroundings.

Overall, I found it to be an emotional drenched song filled with bitterness, loss, rage, sadness, and so on.
