Who's to Blame?A Poem by Matt HargenraderAnother look at the aftermath of a breakup.
Sometimes I feel like I'm out here alone.
I'm constantly scared, and I'm far from home. We have all had our fair share of these days. Your heart and mind travel separate ways. But what would you do if I blamed it on you? Oh, why can't I get you out of my head? It isn't love if derived from a bed. "We've had our time, so it's time to move on." Yet I haven't moved since you have been gone. But how would you feel if I blamed it on you? Everyone thinks that I'm going insane. How would you feel if your love stole your brain? Easy to judge when you're on the outside. It's hard to cope when part of you has died. But oh would you care if I blamed it on you? I'm over you, but I'm not over what we had. Adventures and journeys, some good and some bad. Feelings you gave me, I thought they'd drive me mad. I don't regret it, but I will say that I'm glad. I got back my freedom; I'm no longer sad. A great deal has changed since I was a high school grad. So it's not really you that I'm missing. A better girl is something I'm wishing. But how can I get you out of my head? A new girl will bring me back from the dead. So as for the prolonged tale between you and I, What does it matter if the fault is yours or mine?
