Post-Traumatic BreakupA Poem by Matt HargenraderA perspective of the psychological aftermath following a breakup.I've come so close yet so far. Look at all that you have done. Manipulating my psyche from afar. Post-traumatic breakup has only just begun. "It is over," you once said, Leaving heartache and much pain.
You came into my life as quick as you fled, Leaving me with bitter feelings of
disdain. Time goes by, and I arise. And mental peace, I finally reach.
Then with dirty vengeance, you stun me with your presence. You like games and play my mind. When I'm content, you must act. You seek to it that misery be my guide. Thanks to your atrocities, I'm now on the attack. A second chance, is an old song and dance. And your rotten love, is thoroughly done.
Then I look in the mirror, and it's never been clearer. You are not the one.
