PainA Poem by matthiasThe hands of fate
Pain is the long face
People wear in harmattan Pain is the score of overcrowded buses Swindling and dangling on epileptic roads That has long overdue for overhaul Like this regime needs rehabilitation Pain is the long mask Of faceless government The cries of motherless babies With no hope for milk nor suck for meal Pain is the fear in our eyes Your eyes;their eyes You,yes you That look in your eyes Like the sun wouldn't rise early Is the fear of the unknown A fear that has eaten deep in us That we know not what to fear Pain is the scar on our conscience The dreams they took from us The patch we couldn't stitch The dead we dread The life we never had And the pain that refuses to heal with time © 2013 matthiasAuthor's Note
