The Automobile

The Automobile

A Poem by Matthew McDonald

The wheels turn

the engine burns

the car flips

and crashes

The driver wonders

what happened

the wreck glows

nothing is intact

Windows broken

metal torn

tires

as shrapnel

Fire so intense

that aluminum melts

or steel

whatever it is

No trees affected

just our kind

and our creation

called the automobile.

Very short and choppy but I love that kind of vibe it gives off. Amazing job!
