softer in the rainA Poem by mattlundinA little poem I wrote from a line from a song my friend Mikey Gleason wrote...
whispers
speak softer in the rain or at least aren't shouted Quiet voices gentle humming a soft, frenetic hush Blown around voice to voice and ear to ear Quiet thunder wet and heavy rolls down the street toward us and them Bringing with it no violence and forcing no change Maybe A hunch of cold shoulders or a hood dark comfort over head And maybe A zipper will rise like a king Only to have comfort and shelter take away the crown. © 2012 mattlundin |
