trohpy caseA Poem by mattlundinsomething I wrote at work the other morning...Trophy case I just had to agree When you leaned over and whispered softly in my ear Aren’t you glad you are dead inside like me? I couldn’t argue and I didn’t fight And that somehow was harder than admitting the truth That I’m only dead inside because you put me on my knees And blew my inner thoughts all over our pretty bed Clumps of love for you stick around like brain matter Don’t worry it’s far better than a life without you Really it’s like a mercy killing of a sick dog I just don’t want to be In a world without your collar and leash Hold me down and strangle me Let the happiness build as the stars become brighter and then darker I’ll breathe you in until my lungs are raw Cut me open and let me decorate your walls I will be mounted and placed Another trophy heart for you case © 2015 mattlundin |
