Examinations

Examinations

A Poem by Kami Grace
"

Not written by my hands, but my eyes.

"
People were wearing a wide smile,
holding their papers high above.
Of course,
they now have something glorious to be spoken of.

In the elite class,
the only thing they cared about was their results.
While my classmates were carefully checking the marks,
I heard some offensive insults.

Everything suddenly seemed so ironic,
as if the class had been split into two halves.
With the ones performed well cheering in triumph,
whereas the remaining weeping in misery.

While some children were forbidden to play violent games,
aren't examinations a kind of violence?
They were like demons,
taking away all your confidence and innocence.

The examination hall is just a battlefield,
and the elite class is the core of it.
The strong are allowed to stay with pride,
the weak are destined to leave in fear.
To stand in the flame of war you must strive for the best,
or struggle in vain and wait to be eliminated.

is this a game?kinda confused but its probably just me .this what i got_a class is getting there grade because there was an exam and half=f the class celebrated the other half was sad cuz they faild.and you related it to a battle.if im correct you did a good write and explaind the feeling and moment well.you should add similes to demons on this line to give it a good feeling and make it longer like this-They were like demons, monsters, blood sucking vampire waiting to take your motivation(the last one idk bout but mabey that would make it better i like it though

Unfortunately, the education system believes in artificial selection whereby high intelligence is the trait that is highly favoured. You have reflected this nicely in your poem.

You are most welcome.
Quite well written and I have to agree in some places the schooling system does put a lot of emphasis on grades rather than what these students have actually learned. Excellent job.
