You've brought out my depression. Contest entry.

A glass of iced tea

Melting, aging

Wetness on the table

A coaster to provide dignity.

Tannins sink to the bottom

Leaving tepid water

Poured out and replaced

By something fresh.

So much is used and ignored,

Left to waste and be replaced.

What is valued anymore?

Am I?

Will I be left to waste,

Provided with a quiet place to die?

I love this - it is a new take on the refreshing liquid - for me (a simple yankee) iced tea means "summer."

If you add a lemon, you can counteract all the bad tea mojo.
This is sad and reminds me of older people left behind. Eighty years old is the new sixty--so things are better...not sure about that! Very pensive and wets my whistle!
