What a great senryu (actually that's what it is)! The first and 3rd lines are outstanding -- I love the concept of angst impounding our dreams. Brilliant insight there. I'm still trying to decide if I agree with your middle line (which I count as 7 syllables, as it should be!), but that's the beauty of this kind of poetry: we get to share our understandings.

Hope is just wor-ry with smi-les?

Is smiles like squirrels with only one syllable on your planet? You never cease to bring a smile to my face.

My mother writes a lot of haiku and swears that she maintings 17 without 5-7-5, but I don't see that, either!
