Seasons: a Collaboration with Willard Wells

Seasons: a Collaboration with Willard Wells

A Poem by mattavelli

SPRING

like the skies at dawn         rain flooding the street

the new year brims with color             sand bags filled by volunteers

and promises warmth              time short to save house

SUMMER

trees catching sunbeams                     heat scorches the earth

paint the land with precious shade      drying the land from the heat

where cool breezes hide                     all creatures suffer

AUTUMN

leaves that loved the sun       leaves vivid color

now welcome the gentle moon          clogging drains as rain falls hard

with striking color         flooding streets and yards

WINTER

flakes flutter lightly      snow falls and piled high

a surprise for morning eyes      roadways clogged with trucks and cars

from cold starry skies      traffic at standstill

I enjoyed the comparisons/contrasts. Great collaborative work here. Well done!

Voice on left: Louder, begins first, happy tone
Voice on right: Quieter, begins slightly after first voice, melancholic tone

Great show piece. In a way, it's comedic. The collaboration worked very well. Often they seem to not mesh too well and have some grinding spots, but the two of you pulled it off perfectly. Sanguine and melancholy in sync.

A amazing poem. I like the set-up and the strong description. You both did a outstanding job with this outstanding poetry. The seasons give us opportunity to describe the beauty of nature.

Haha, ya. Northern girls get a thrill out of showing so much skin. It's fun to watch.
i think i like it...one side flows into the other...light to dark and back again...much like time and life in constant ebb and flow...

You write so beautiful!!!!
I've never seen such thoughtful writing. Your imagery is so vivid that I feel like I've traveled through and experienced a full year of beauty and drudgery, just by reading this. Well done!!! hahaha

Weaving these two paradigms together in a Pros and Cons list that is in reference to the seasons. Sort of like a cynical Farmer's Almanac. Each side could not be less line the other. A perfect merge of optimism and pessimism that does not happen commonly and is in no way considered organic. A great idea and great collaboration. Great job to the both of you. take care...dan
