What was once before
So beautiful
Silhouetted against the sky
Your beauty

Hair blows in the wind
Can this day never end
You are my precious
Rapture, bliss within

What has happened
I cannot know
You lay before me
Skin perfect-dark and lips so red...

You sleep, my child
Please, only a little while
Where do you go
Oh, return to me

Before me you turn to ash
What once was is no more
For this I never asked
And I miss you so...

Return to me, my darling
