Ritter Cave

Ritter Cave

A Poem by Matt "Mickey" Denney
"

This was always a blast!

"
To the gargantuan cavern I walk
Entrance my height three-fold
Pitch-black inside
Echoes of all sound
My light beams before me
The Ceiling instills awe
Stalactites hang
Stalagmites reach
A large plateau overhead
I begin to climb
Hand over hand
Foot over foot
I reach the top
Three tunnels to decide
I choose one to take
Hands and knees inside
The farther I go
The smaller the hold
On my belly I crawl
Open space soon before me
My mind takes it all in
Screetching and soaring
The bats made known
Cool draft hits my face
My eyes glimpse it all
Beauty beyond description
What hath God wrought?

INCREADIBLE write -- I smell the sweat and feel the challenge of your journey to the beauty of nature’s sophistication
on the top, your path resembles a rout to the deep down core of human sub-consciousness which hides "Beauty beyond description" …

Thought provoking, makes the reader want to be in that cave and see the beauty.
