Nights with you

Nights with you

A Poem by Freedom's Child

Slip back to the strangest nights,
the nights when we were there.

The sand got warmer,
while the wind got colder.

The sun went downward,
The waves crashed forward,
Ships sank into the sea.

Before our entangled sweat could reach the water,
the summer's sun had risen.

The servant of the night has been defeated,
the tourist soon will be appearing.

Remember the dreams of last night,
so summer's sun can be relinquished.
