The whisper of Satan

The whisper of Satan

A Poem by matrix101

It was not love at first sight,

for handsome he was not,

nor he was wealthy, tall or strong.

But words he recited were eloquent and soft,

like the whisper of Satan when he plans his plot.

“Alas”…..You judged my silence to be the absence of love,

as you were fooled being led astray.

Eloquence of speech is no sign of love,

for the eyes not see what lies in our hearts.

Many before you were led astray,

for the whispers of Satan are his evil ways,

as he withdraws his voice from the breasts of man, misguidance is his only plan.

The tongue so clever seducing her prey,

like the vulnerable creatures killed and slayed.

How vain and foolish you forgot our vowels,

that were once read before a noble crowd,

reciting words as I knelt before you,

promising to love and always serve you.

“Alas” I cried... my hands raised high,

starring deep into the endless sky,

My Lord I cried guide me straight,

for let not my heart begin to stray.

My broken heart could bear no more,

for my cries were no longer the laughs of joy.

Before you saw he loved you not……..13 years...!!!
