it is raining my love

it is raining my love

A Poem by Matome Masipa
"

the writings under a fading candle

"

it is raining outside;

Such an odd way to start words to tell someone but there was no place to begin,

And like the very drops outside,

I do not know how to pour my words on you, so your emotions do not fall and flow all Over the depth of your heart.

Mixed, the way the waters do with the ground, turning moist then into mud

How can i say them to you so that after each single one, i evoke some colorful entity

The way clouds do rainbows after the wetness is everywhere;

And the air is silent with blue skies at the edge.

I paused after thoughts and thoughts trying to paint this for you,

That on that day when you held me in your arms happy

And in love

And all the other things you related to me in the passion.

There was sex in the air but love was there first and would remain infinitely.

I confessed and you replied with tears.

Looking at the touch of one droplet on my coat, i remembered that day

When we were free from troubles and closer than magnetic fields.

The distance has held you and i at bay since then and i worry everyday.

About when i will get to see your smile and your charm again

My words have washed up with the purpose of all i was trying to say in all my lonely dismay.

It is raining outside,

And i am reminiscing about the tears that fell down your cheeks when you asked me to stay

Just one more day in bed.

The words gave me courage to weather the burdens of my heart

I never wanted to leave you, though i had to

I took a risk and for another happy and joyful experience i remained.

Morning came still;

And still i had to go away.

I swore to come back to you, this time for good.

So that days like these do not bother me anymore;

Sundays and  Mondays do not symbolize sad goodbyes.

Only a chance for me to be late for work.

Oh how i wish and long for a day like today

Looking outside, whispering "its raining outside my love"
