little birdie with a single blue feather

A Poem by Matome Masipa
"

When butterfly wings sang poem one

"
Little birdie with a single blue feather,
I see you flying in the sun.
An eagle's coming after you in the peaceful sunny weather,
Your little wings spread so you slice the air as you run
You where probably hungry or your chicks are,
You went up, up till my eyes could not see how far,
You shouldn't have gone after those pieces of pie.
My thoughts echoed in sorrow as I saw your blue feather fall,
And on the grass your beautiful feather gently ly.
You were gone in a way so sly, gentle singer with a voice so small. Today I saw something beautiful die.
Deep in my heart I cry.
For the little birdie with a single blue feather.
