the dysfunctional letter

the dysfunctional letter

A Poem by Matome Masipa
"

A weekend with my cousin and life

"
Worry your heart not about tough times and hurting trails,
Things could get worse, things could get better,
A positive and optimistic mind is the essential weapon for any matter.
Don't bother with who's drinking out the golden grail.
We are all blessed, no one is meant to feel less,
No one is meant to always fail.
Even if Your life is in more turmoil than other people's mess.
Some success can be stressful, Chose a day to be happy in the crisis,
To find out where pieces of the smallest joy in your life really is.
Happiness is valued differently for different a reason,
Can't put a price on something with value that can not be seen by another person.
Let's face truth head on, someone out there admires your life, you just don't know, people have poker faces, feelings with mazes,
envious eyes stealing with gazes.
Blinded in the struggles of finding themselves in search their glory.
We all have angels, we all have demons, but none of us a neither.
We are just human,
A better taste of good cream is the biggest craving in man.
Generosity is good, but can not be vastly distributed for free,
Like the air we get silently from every tree,
Life should be like that, but its not.
Am content with that as long as my family have gold in the pot.
Some spare change in my pockets to go to my favorite spot.
Silly me, ruining a good message;
Damn it; A weekend with my cousin late night in the city drinking,
And all am doing is thinking.
why do we struggle so we don't have to worry,
Peace of mind and a quiet space is probably worth more than we realize.
Losing bonds is much painful than we can be comforted with those who sympathize.
One day it will be better.
That's what I was trying to say in this dysfunctional letter.

"the dysfunctional letter" man, I love that title. I love how you went from philosophical to what sounds like an awesome weekend. These same thoughts on life, run through my mind every morning. The first line: "worry your heart not" is everything I needed to hear right now. Excellent piece.
