Parasitic

Parasitic

A Poem by mathiasthom

Watching this happen
feeling replaced,
history erased,
as if one never existed...

Such a revisionist,
Change is hard to resist,
The first cut
always seems to be the deepest

A picnic basket,
overrun with ants
Bottle of wine,
changed into vinegar

Wrinkles embedded deep
on the surface of this flesh
feeling truly parasitic,
in some humanistic, hornet nest

rejecting these familiar antics
of circling jackals
preaching ways,
that they could not even fathom

Viewing all that is known
finding everything strange
rejecting this gene pool,
that practices irrationality...
