Harvest

Harvest

A Poem by mathiasthom

Sowing delicate seeds,
in cracked, parched earth
Storm is brewing, to rattle and unnerve
Knowing this homestead
won't collapse to the ground,
survived piddling much worse:
famine, unemployment
multiple births, untimely deaths
These antiquated wheat fields
Still hold the promise for another harvest yet...
