Dark God

Dark God

A Poem by Mahigan
"

An older one of mine, but one of my favorite to have written. If you enjoy the darker side of life, you'll find this one to suit your tastes. And remember, not all gods are kind and benevolent...

"
A dark god stands amongst his court
Chaos beckoning for order
He molds and shapes till his fingers bleed
To forge a shape pleasing to his eye

Monsters all, this god creates
distorting and warping their bodies and minds
Pouring blood-lust into their hearts
Blackening and charring their souls

He makes them dance as he pulls their strings
Makes them fight 'till they bleed and die
Makes them feast upon the flesh
Of their fallen kin and bathe in their blood

He picks them up and smashes them down
Feeding off of agonized screams
He breaks their limbs and tears them off
Then sews them onto the wrong forms

All day long he sits and plays
Making new forms and discarding the old
Burning their flesh alive 'till they die
Then leaving them to live when day turns to night

They howl and wail in their sufferings
Mindless and aimless they scream and die
The stronger made devouring the weak
The weak feasting upon the dying

Savage and hate filled they live through the night
Breeding and bringing new horrors to life
This consummation, this final abhorrence
Brings full circle this abomination of mind

And when the god wakens and looks on his court
He sees that his toys have life of their own
Then he sits and he watches the panics at his sight
Then smiles and thinks of new games he will play
