Happy Birthday Mom

Happy Birthday Mom

A Poem by massam
"

It's my mom's birthday tomorrow, so I wrote her this poem. I'm a poor college student and this could be her last birthday (she has stage 4 breast cancer), hope she likes it!

"

The light in this house illuminates roses and hearts

While the melody accommodates laughter and farts

The conversation is of Chili Peppers and dad

And that the nerdy look will always be more than a fad

You understand my weirdness and I love yours

Maybe it’s because we both don’t like The Doors

Either way we both know the intention

When we turn over and re-pay attention

I know some days I sit here like a stone

With a quite look and my voice baritone

But always know that you’re the bomb

I love you, and couldn’t ask for a better mom
