Forgot

 

I don’t try to forget you anymore…

Cause the word itself…hurts…so bad,

And when I “forget” I feel like I’ve let someone down…

And when I think of you…I think how forgotten I am..

I don’t want to lose your smile, and how you laugh..

I don’t want to lose, those beautiful brown eyes…

And I can’t forget all the things that we did..

But it hurts so bad…to remember it.

Oh, when I’m forgetting; how pretty you said I am…

Or when I forget that I’m smarter than what people think I am…

Especially when, I forget how we used to hold hands…

The pain of it all comes back….too fast.

Can you remember me…or is it killing you,

I remember you and it breaks my heart, as I fall in love…again.

Forgotten, I wait on my own…

Been here trying to realize you’re gone…

But every little moment sweeps through my mind..

And I cry.

I don’t try to forget you anymore…

Cause the word has scarred me so bad…

But I will die and remember..

You were my first,

You and your expressions..

You and your hands holding mine..

You and your whisper in my ear..

You and your strength, making me brave..

You and another, forgetting the time that we made…

And when I “forget” next time…

I hope it doesn’t bring me down…

And I just can’t pronounce;

The way I feel… When I hear that you were around..

But I’m forgotten now…
