An Angel

I wrote this for a friend in the summer of 1998

Never seen an angel?!?
Why, that cannot be!
'Cause searching for the angels
is rather fun for me.

An angel is a best friend
Who'll never leave you sad.
They'll always stand beside you
And never treat you bad.

An angel is a lover
with unconditional love.
A very special gift
Which came from God above.

An angel is a stranger
Who you have yet to meet.
They greet you with happy faces
When you see them on the street.

An angel is a partner
Who'll never think you're odd.
Around whom you can be yourself
without a big façade.

An angel is a singer
with a special kind of song.
They always want the best for you,
They'll never do you wrong.

Angels are all around us
you can plainly see..
They come in many faces...
An angel you may be.
